Story 13

Writer: humansofwinchesterunihumansofwinchesteruni

“The worst thing about being a twin is people always asking, 'Are you twins?' I get it every time. Not from people I know but, we'll walk down the street sometimes and people will stop us and ask that. I always want to say, 'No, we’re cousins,' because it’s obvious! We look exactly – well not exactly – alike! But it just gets me annoyed.

And having to share things as I’ve grown up. Of course, I had to share a room with him; I’ve shared things all my life. I didn't get my own room until I was six, and even then we shared clothes and toys. We even shared a crib - it was the late 90's so no one batted an eyelid. I never had anything for myself. Anything he got, I got; it had to be equal, one couldn’t have something better than the other. If my brother wanted something for Christmas that was cheaper, my parents would ask me for something that was a similar price. But at least I have a lifelong friend, if you ignore the constant fighting.
